General Information:

 

Darryl Greene Professional Sports Agency is based in Inkster, Michigan. The goal of the agency is to recruit athletes who are seeking to compete at a paid professional level. Attributes surrounding the agency qualifies athletes who are paid professionals that exhibit athletic skills that are not limited to the National Basketball League, International Sports Leagues, Regional leagues and entertained travel ventures such as the Harlem Globetrotters.

General Hours:

  • Approximately 10 hours per week or until a maximum of 200 hours is reached (whichever requirement is completed sooner).

Main Duties:

  • Develop marketing materials for professional athletes.

  • Perform tasks with or for athletes in various stages of their careers.

  • Develop and execute strategies for speaking engagements

  • Understand the needs of the professional market.

  • Professionally represent athletes obtaining player biographies, contact information, and negotiate player contracts.

  • Make appropriate recommendations for the athletes’ options.

  • Guide the athlete's career to appropriate leagues based upon obtaining suitable requirement.

Compensation:

  • An unpaid internship that qualifies to earn applicable credit hours towards specific degree requirements.

Specific Goals to achieve while doing the experience:

  • Understand the duties of being a sports agent

  • Research players and build clientele relationships

  • Perform in-depth tasks that surpass the expectations of the duty requirements

  • Gain transferable skills and knowledge that can be applied to a career in sports

Expected Learning Outcomes:

  • Develop professional behaviors under the guidance of a professional.

  • Complete assignments without direct supervision.

  • Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Examine and appraise the sports industry and its relationship to culture and society in the United States and globally.

  • Demonstrate an ability to network with sport industry professionals.
